Product recommendations!

 Hi friends!

Today I would like to talk about some products I highly recommend using. None of these are sponsored products.

The first product I would like to recommend is BRS or Bulk Reef Supply. While this is not a product... They are a community driven retail supplier that constantly pushes the bar for reefing standards. They carry a lot of the top of the line products and equipment at fair market values. If you have not checked out their Youtube channel, I highly recommend going over there and checking it out. This is their main way to market products but also to teach and inform reefers in the hobby. I normally do not support companies very strongly, but they have done such a wonderful job bringing enthusiasm and transparency into the hobby.

A specific product from BRS that I LOVE is Rox carbon pellets. These are the only carbon I use in my tanks. It is very fine and clean and super effective. They have a video on their channel demonstrating the effectiveness of the Rox Carbon over more generic carbon.

The next product I really enjoy using is AI Prime and Hydra. I did a write up of them on the blog already, so if you are interested in them check it out here. Overall, they are a great light with a lot of functionality and range. They start at a really nice price range for high end LEDs as well.

Another product I really enjoy using is Reef Roids and Reef Energy AB+. Both of these are great food options for supplemental feedings. Sometimes you want a little more growth and coloration in a coral. These are two good options to get that done. They are a very reasonable price and they can last a long time. Just go easy and not over feed your tank!

For those of you that like to dose, I really enjoy Kalkwasser (kalk) and Ash water. I normally purchase these in big tubs and never worry about buying more again. Overall, these are great products to monitor specific parameters such as calcium and alkalinity. It also helps balance PH and a few other parameters.

Finally, the last product I will recommend for now is Tropic Marin Pro Reef Salt. By and far the best reef tank salt mix I have ever used. I will always opt to buy this over competitors salt. This has become a hard product to find since covid restrictions began. It is overall one of the more expensive salt brands, but the quality is something worth paying for. When you take so much time to strip impurities from the water in the form of RODI filtration, you want to add back only what is needed in the form of a good salt mix. Some salt mixes can contain unwanted "gunk". Why would I want to take the time and money to get everything clean, just to add back unwanted material? That is why I think buying a good salt mix is very important.

As always, if you have any questions let me know :)

Thank you,

-FFF
